Lionel Richie would 'never get plastic surgery' as he reveals secrets to 'youthful' look

Lionel Richie vows to never get plastic surgery, despite fans wondering how he looked so young at the Coronation concert.

The All Night Long star, 73, wowed viewers when he performed at Windsor Castle on Sunday, with many complimenting the star on his youthful appearance.

Some wondered if the Hello singer had indulged in a bit of nip and tuck, but Lionel says he'd never go under the knife because 'that s**t goes wrong'.

Speaking about prospect of plastic surgery, he said: "[Plastic surgery] locks you in for that year [while you recover] - and after that you can't go naturally, you're staying right there...

"You try and go back to reset, and you can't," he said, adding: "[And] that s*** goes wrong!"

Lionel also revealed sex is a big part of his anti-ageing routine, explaining: "Water, sleep, and sweat, not too much red meat. I know it's real boring. [Sex] will work also and it's good for your heart," reports MailOnline.

The star came under criticism from some during the Coronation gig, as fans accused the singer of 'butchering' his songs.

The Royal Family were up dancing during Lionel's smash-hit All Night Long, but some viewers thought it should have been cut short after complaining about the vocals.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "He sounds completely different and is terrible live! #CoronationConcert," as another added: "What happened to Lionel his voice? My ears.... #CoronationConcert."

Despite the criticism, Lionel appeared to be proud of his performance as he captioned a clip of the gig the next day: "All night long at Windsor Castle England."

He also shared a backstage selfie taken with his newly-married daughter Sofia Richie, her husband and Lionel's girlfriend Lisa Parigi, who he's been with for 10 years.

Speaking about what an honour it was to be asked to perform at the Coronation, the star told People: "I mean, you don't get in the business and say, 'You know what? I'll be at the King's Coronation.'

"You know, that just never comes up. It's A, a surprise. B, what an honour. And C, the fact of all the names that are out there that he could have had for this, he called my name."

Lionel can currently be seen in American Idol, where he joins judge Katy Perry, who also performed at the Coronation concert.
