Lionel Messi 'wants' Barcelona transfer return as former Nou Camp star drops PSG bombshell

A former Barcelona player has claimed Lionel Messi is already thinking about returning.

The Ballon d'Or had agreed a new contract at Camp Nou in the summer but the club's financial situation meant he couldn't be registered.

Messi moved to Paris Saint-Germain but numerous rumours have emerged that his family are not happy in France and the superstar hasn't integrated with the squad, spending most of his time with Argentine contignent Angel Di Mario, Leandro Paredes and Mauro Icardi.

He's been back in Catalonia in recent days for Xavi's birthday, and former Barça winger Lobo Carrasco insists he wants to return permanently.

Speaking on El Chiringuito he declared Messi is "not happy" in Paris and that he's seen "important clues" he could come back.

How Barcelona could afford it even if PSG were open to a deal is another question, with the club still well above their La Liga salary cap.

Meanwhile, Barca have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

The Ivory Coast international is out of contract at the end of the season and has also been lined with Liverpool and Tottenham.

But Sportitalia TV have claimed he's closing in on a deal to move to the Nou Camp in the summer.
