One of the most titanic transfers in football history was confirmed on Tuesday as the world’s greatest player, arguably of all time, finally left Barcelona for Paris.

Messi will pocket a remarkable €35m a year for two seasons, with the option of a third, as he moves into a forward line which already boasts Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and plenty others in reserve.

PSG have already been installed as favourites to win the Champions League this season, the main target for the club and a trophy Messi has never been shy about wanting to win again.

Messi will be addressing the media in a press conference this morning from 10am UK time as he begins life in the French capital and looks forward to making his debut in the blue of PSG.
