Linlithgow Rose Ladies are aiming to pick up their first piece of silverware as they battle it out with Harmony Row in Sunday’s SWFL League Cup final.
The Rose, who were founded last year, are currently sitting top of the fourth tier SWFL Central/South East league and club captain Laura Hopwood says leading the club out in their first final will be an ‘honour’ when they take to the field at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld (4.30pm kick-off).
Speaking to Scottish Women's Football, she said: “I am really looking forward to leading the team out. I am from Linlithgow and being the captain of my home town football team is a real honour.
“Linlithgow Rose Ladies were only formed in February 2021 and for us to reach the League Cup final in such a short time is amazing.
“We were proud last year to get as far as the semi-final but when we set our team goals at the start of this season we were determined to get to the final.”
She added: “We are a community team and have been very clear from the start that we are inclusive and everyone is welcome.
“This has made sure the atmosphere in the team is relaxed and enjoyable and it seems to be working.”
