Lingenfelter 7.0-Liter Upgrade Adds Big Power for C8 Corvette

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has a big new engine for Chevrolet Corvette owners. It’s called the Eliminator Spec S, and it’s a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter, 427-cubic-inch LT2 V-8 engine that the tuner's already installed in a Corvette E-Ray and taken to the dyno.

According to Lingenfelter, this is the highest-powered naturally aspirated engine available for the C8 Stingray and the all-wheel-drive E-Ray. The dyno says the car is making 577 hp and 528 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels, which translates to over 700 horsepower and over 600 pound-feet of torque at the crank, says the tuner.

The aftermarket specialist worked with Callies to develop several unique pieces for the bored and stroked engine, featuring Callies H-beam connecting rods and a Callies crankshaft. It also has 4.125-inch MAHLE Power Pack pistons, a COMP Cam camshaft designed to work with the dual-clutch transmission’s torque and shift parameters, and the block’s stock oiling and scavenging system.

The package isn't cheap. Lingenfelter lists its price at $29,950, and buyers can add an assortment of upgrades, like a carbon intake manifold for $2,395, a ported throttle body for $480.95, or a $795 Halltech cold air intake. Buyers can also upgrade to a CORSA Xtreme exhaust for $3,978.99 or CORSA headers for $2,495.

Lingenfelter says the engine will fit the stock manifolds. The tuner wanted to create an engine that provides power and drivability in one package, and it recommends that those wanting the most power should pair the engine with a new intake and exhaust system.
