Line of Duty star and Nottingham local Vicky McClure announces she's finally home

Our Vicky has shared a heartfelt message on her return to Nottingham after months away filming the latest series of Line of Duty.

The Bafta-winning, Wollaton-born actress has been on location in Belfast filming the sixth series of the popular BBC drama.

Filming for the season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic but production resumed once it was made Covid-compliant.

Jed Mercurio, the show's boss shared snaps on Twitter as filming for the sixth series took place over in Northern Ireland.

But now, Vicky, the prime time TV star who plays Detective Inspector Kate Fleming has returned home and shared the news alongside a smiley picture while she cuddled with her fiancé and filmmaker Jonny Owen.

The 37-year-old said in the Instagram picture caption: Home.️
"[Three] months away from home not easy...but we have the BEST crew who’ve kept each other safe, kept spirits high, couldn’t of been on any other job through this. I love you all LOD lot!!!!! xxxxx #LOD6"

It was revealed in the summer that Vicky would be the vice chair of the newly formed Nottingham Board for Culture and Creativity, the collective behind The Nottingham Project - an ambitious new 10 year plan to re-vision Nottingham.
