Co Fermanagh actor Adrian Dunbar is to become an ambassador for local GAA club Enniskillen Gaels.
The Line of Duty star will be in attendance at an event to present the club’s development plans for its Brewster Park ground.
The club is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its ground opening this year, with the Enniskillen native due to become a club ambassador at the event in the Westville Hotel later this month.
Actor Dunbar said he was excited to be linking up with his hometown club.
“I’m looking forward to being back in Enniskillen and meeting up with the Gaels,” he said.
“There is a great energy about the club, as there should be from the county town.”
Enniskillen Gaels said in a statement it was delighted to have the actor, who is well-known for contributing to community groups in the area, involved as they look to launch their development plans.
The club is aiming to upgrade and improve its facilities to cater for the ‘modern club who sit at the heart of their community’.
“On behalf of the development committee of Enniskillen Gaels we are very appreciative that Adrian Dunbar has agreed to be our club ambassador,” club development secretary Mark Morris said.
“These are exciting times for our club with our new development plans and we feel that Adrian, as a true Enniskillen Gael at heart, his sense of community in local issues and the pride he has in his hometown will represent everything we are aiming to achieve with our development.”
“We look forward to Adrian’s involvement so that positive changes to our club and a stronger community are realised.”
