Lindt has introduced a salted caramel flavoured truffle to its range, much to the delight of the chocolatier’s legion of loyal fans.
The new Lindor offering appears to have been first spotted on the newfooduk Instagram account in a post shared on Wednesday.
An official description of the product reads: “Indulge in Lindor Sea Salt Caramel – a dark chocolate shell with delicate pieces of salt, enrobing a smooth caramel flavoured centre.
“Perfect for sharing, or for your everyday special moments.”
Chocolate fans can get their hands on the new treat, retailing at £5 for a 200g box, by visiting their local Morrisons or Tesco.
They are also available to buy in bulk from online market place Amazon for those wanting to stock up during lockdown.
Adoring fans were quick to express their delight, with hundreds of people leaving comments underneath new newfooduk’s post.
One gushing fan simply wrote: “oh my GOD”
Another added: “Good Lord! I need these bad boys!”
While a third said: “Game changer”
Swiss-based company Lindt was founded in 1845 and has become renowned across the globe for its range of truffles, chocolate bars and other sweets.
On 14 July 2014, Lindt bought Russell Stover Candies, maker of Whitman’s Chocolate, for about $1 billion (£796m), the company’s largest acquisition to date.
It operates most from Europe, where it has factories in Germany, France, Italy and Austria.
