Lindsay Lohan spotted in Mayo shooting scenes for new movie Irish Wish as locals scramble to get glimpse of star

Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan has been snapped in Mayo shooting scenes for her new movie.

36-year-old Lohan and her apparent body double were spotted in Westport shooting frantic scenes as her character runs to a nearby car in what appears to be a wedding gown.

Just last month producers were scrambling for an Irish actress to play the Parent Trap star's body double for some scenes in the movie.

The flick for Netflix is being shot in Westport with further scenes being filmed at Knock Airport.

Further afield, Lough Tay in the Wicklow Mountains, Killruddery House and Gardens, Bray Head and the Cliffs of Moher are all on the location list for the film.

Lohan is playing the lead role of Maddie in the movie which is expected to be released on Netflix globally in 2023.

She recently signed up for a “two-picture creative partnership” with the streaming service that also includes a Christmas movie, Falling For Christmas, which is expected to hit Netflix in late 2022.

Locals in Mayo have been keen to catch a glimpse of the actress who was a major child and teenage star in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Her credits include The Parent Trap, Mean Girls and Freaky Friday. More recently she appear as herself in Scream 5 in 3013 and as a panellist of the Australian TV version of the Masked Singer in 2019.
