Lindsay Lohan's 'Fire Crotch' Joke Removed From 'Mean Girls'

A joke referencing the term 'fire crotch' has been removed from the digital version of 2024's 'Mean Girls' after Lindsay Lohan publicly took issue with it. 'Fire crotch' became associated with Lohan after socialite Brandon Davis made crude comments about the actor's body in a 2006 paparazzi video that also featured Paris Hilton.

Lohan, who played Cady Heron in the 2004 original 'Mean Girls,' made a cameo in this year's movie musical rendition. Her representative expressed Lohan's disappointment with the reference in the film. The updated version of the movie now features a scene where Megan Thee Stallion, playing herself, supports Cady by saying, 'We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back!'

Paramount, the studio behind the film, has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the removal of the joke. Lohan interpreted the 'fire crotch' reference as a hurtful reminder of the derogatory nickname she was given in the mid-2000s.

In the original video, Davis made derogatory remarks about Lohan while Hilton was present. Lohan's return to 'Mean Girls' in a surprise cameo as the Mathletes Championship moderator was well-received at the film's New York premiere.

Reports indicate that Lohan was paid approximately $500,000 for her brief appearance in the movie, which she flew in from Dubai to attend the premiere for. The removal of the controversial joke reflects a sensitivity to Lohan's past experiences and a commitment to respecting her feelings.
