Linda Pizzuti sends classy response to Liverpool fan after FSG 'moan' claim

Linda Pizzuti, the wife of John W. Henry, told Liverpool fans that their passion is 'special' despite FSG receiving criticism for their ownership of the club from portions of support.

Having been priced out of a move for Jude Bellingham this summer, fans vented their frustration at the FSG's tight financial model which prevents the Reds from competing with Europe's biggest teams in the transfer market.

However, the additions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai for a combined sum of at least £90 million have allayed fears that, after an underwhelming campaign, Liverpool's Premier League dominance may begin to wane.

Following Szoboszlai's arrival one Liverpool fan going by the Instagram handle of riaan.aucamp.1 sent a message of support to FSG in the direction of Pizzuti, who has been married to Henry since 2009.

They wrote: "I think it's hilarious that of all the sports teams FSG own, it's only us Liverpool fans that moan here. Please forgive the passion but know it means that you are part of something extremely important."

While her husband has been on the receiving end of grief during his time on Merseyside, Pizzuti's response was admirable and one which contained a great deal of respect, writing: "Thanks - I think the passion is very special."

The Reds owners flirted with the idea of a sale briefly as they sought to test market conditions in the wake of the sale of Chelsea for what was seen by many as an inflated figure given the commitment to infrastructure investment that was also made.

Instead, FSG pivoted quickly to an investment search, but is understood that nothing is imminent on that front, nor are there any names that are in advanced talks and moving towards the finish line. It remains something that the owners are looking at and are conducting conversations over, but something that has no pressing time constraints.

Henry himself told the ECHO back in March that the commitment of the ownership group remains ‘stronger than ever’.
