Linda Nolan says she's 'not giving up' as she's supported over brain cancer diagnosis on ITV Good Morning Britain

Linda Nolan said she doesn't know how long she has left but that she's 'not giving up' as she shared her cancer news on Good Morning Britain. The singer appeared on the ITV news programme on Monday (March 27) after being seen in a wheelchair sparked concern.

She shared with hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid that after pictures of her were released of her leaving hospital in a wheelchair, just weeks after her 64th birthday, she wanted to give her own update on her condition.

Linda, who has sold more than 30 million records with her sisters in the hit band The Nolans, shared the sad news that she has been told her cancer has spread to her brain. Speaking to co-hosts Richard and Susanna live via video link, she said: "Unfortunately, sadly for me, my cancer has now spread to my brain, which I only found out on Monday."

Linda was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2005 but got the all-clear in 2006. In 2017, cancer returned in her hip and spread to her liver in 2020. She discovered the cancer had spread to her brain after suffering three ‘quite nasty falls’, as the disease was affecting her balance.

Describing her new diagnosis as "very frightening", Linda acknowledged that there "isn’t much help for brain cancer", but she is going to undergo radiotherapy.

"I’m positive, I’m not giving up," she said determinedly, adding that treatment means she's going to end up losing her hair for a fourth time. But she did laugh when she told how one of her sisters joked that she now has some 'nice wigs' following her previous cancer treatment.

Linda is now living with her sister Denise and being supported by her family, including Loose Women star Coleen and Maureen, who attended her latest appointment when she receieved the upsetting news.
