‘Limited’ remains the only info from Packers on Jordan Love’s status

For the second consecutive week, Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur is revealing nothing more on Jordan Love’s status than the daily one-word practice participation designation.

“Limited.”

Injured players are categorized into three categories on the injury report: Full participation, limited participant and did not participate. Asked three or four different ways about Love’s work at practice on Thursday, LaFleur said some variation of “limited” and little else.

Last week, Love was a limited participant at practices on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and listed as questionable to play. He was inactive. The same practice participation is playing out this week, although there is increased optimism that Love will play Sunday.

“We’ll see, we’ll give him up to game time,” LaFleur said.

In an effort to limit information given to the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers are once again playing their cards close to their chest. Put another way, LaFleur wants to make sure the Vikings spend precious time preparing for two different quarterbacks.

Malik Willis, a quarterback who can make plays as a scrambler and in the run game, has won back-to-back starts. The Vikings will need to have game plans ready for both Love and Willis.

Kenny Clark, Luke Musgrave, Jayden Reed, Carrington Valentine, Devonte Wyatt and Jaire Alexander were also limited on Thursday, per LaFleur.

This isn’t just a quarterback issue. When asked about LaFleur’s concern level over Alexander’s injury, LaFleur gave the “he was limited” answer.

The Packers will provide a final injury report with playing status designations on Friday afternoon. Given the way the week has played out, it’s a near certainty that Love will be listed as questionable come Friday.
