Limited edition Xbox Oreos come with freebies for Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon

If you enjoyed Xbox’s Krispy Kreme doughnuts tie-up, its new Oreos offer is sure to get your mouth watering.

Limited edition packs of the cookies that offer freebies for a trio of Xbox games, including the latest Halo and Forza, go on sale in the UK from January 16 to January 30.

The black-and-white biscuits are embossed with the Xbox logo and gamepad buttons. To grab the in-game items, you’ll have to scan the Oreos and enter combinations based on cheat codes from classic games.

On offer are blue-and-white Spartan suits from Halo Infinite speckled with black dots to resemble the sandwich cookies. There’s also a cookies-and-cream vehicle skin for Forza Horizon 5 and an Oreo-fied pirate ship for online multiplayer adventure Sea of Thieves.

Participants will be entered into a draw to win prizes including an Xbox console and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate memberships.

In addition to the UK, the Xbox Oreo cookies will also be available in 21 other countries during the same time frame.

Collaborations between the worlds of gaming and snack and junk foods aren’t new. In 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game on NES came with a voucher for a free Pizza Hut pizza. And Microsoft has previously partnered with Doritos and Mountain Dew to give away free Xbox One consoles. Before its Krispy Kreme doughnuts landed in 2021, it also made an Xbox Series X mini fridge to promote its latest console.

In other Xbox news, recent reports claimed that Microsoft is following Sony by ramping up prices of its top games by an extra £10 this year. The move could be a bid to increase subscriptions for its Game Pass membership through which it offers a library of games for a monthly fee.

January’s new Game Pass titles include Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden, Monster Hunter Rise and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition.
