Lily needs a new home

Animal welfare experts are appealing for a home for a friendly older dog.

Lily is a friendly 13-year-old Jack Russell Terrier currently staying at Dogs Trust West Calder.

Her carers say she is an affectionate golden girl who has lots of love to give.

A spokeswoman for Dogs Trust said: “Lily has plenty of energy and enjoys exploring on her walks or bonding with her human friends over a game of fetch.

“She will entertain herself by pottering around the garden, chasing her favourite ball. Happiest when in the company of her favourite people, Lily can’t resist a fuss or being spoiled with tasty treats.

“She enjoys snuggling up for a gentle scratch at the end of a fun-filled day.

“Lily is looking for a peaceful retirement home where she can be treated to cuddles and ball games in her own private garden.

“She would like for her new family to be at home with her while she settles in.

“As Lily prefers human companions to four-legged friends, she would like to be walked in quiet areas away from unfamiliar dogs.

“She is always ready to hop in the car for her next adventure.

“If you think you could provide a home for Lily or any of the 50 dogs currently available for rehoming, please contact the West Calder Rehoming Centre on 01506 873459.”

West Calder Rehoming Centre is currently seeking new foster carers across the whole of the Lothians and the Scottish Borders.

The centre is celebrating its foster carers throughout the summer and will be hosting a special event, Thank Dog it’s Fostering Friday, on Friday, August 12, from 2pm to 3.30 pm, where prospective foster carers can learn how they can get involved in the charity’s successful Home from Home scheme.
