Lily James is poised to launch her previously teased music career with not one but two songs set to be unleashed in the imminent weeks.
The 33-year-old Hollywood star recently made waves playing Pamela Anderson in the controversial Hulu series Pam & Tommy – starring opposite Sebastian Stan as rock legend Tommy Lee.
While Lily was an on-screen wife of a rocker in the drama, she is now set to become a real life popstar herself as she is to make an assault on the music charts.
The British actress has been working with some top music talent and is expected to unleash her tracks in time for the summer season.
A source told The Sun: “She has written and performed two amazing songs with DJ Yoda, called Airplane Mode and Breathe.
“Lily was planning on releasing one last year but everything got delayed. Now she has decided to treat fans to two tracks rather than one.
“She loves singing and has a great voice. She cannot wait for people to hear what they come up with.”
It was previously reported that Lily planned to release music with the hope of potentially appearing on one of the stages at the Glastonbury Music Festival.
This years’ event is due to take place later this month, with stars including Billie Eilish, Pet Shop Boys and Diana Ross due to take to the stages at Worthy Farm between 22-26 June.
A source said in May last year that Lily was plotting her pop debut, teasing: “Lily and DJ Yoda recorded Send Her in North London. It’s got a really chilled-out vibe which was the polar opposite of how Lily was feeling.
“Lily is a really talented singer and excited about getting the song out there. The plan is to hold off until the end of summer and to try to coincide with Glasto.”
Meanwhile Lily herself has already shown off her singing chops by taking on a role in the popular ABBA musical, Mama Mia!: Here We Go Again where she played a younger version of Meryl Streep’s character Donna Sheridan-Carmichael.
Meryl herself previously praised Lily’s voice, saying: “I had no idea Lily had these singing chops.
“Some people sing from the bottom of their feet right up. She shakes the rafters. She is amazing.”
While Lily expressed her love for singing, saying in 2018: “I loved singing as a kid and then I stopped and I would never get up and do karaoke.
“I lost my confidence and then suddenly I was forced to embrace it full throttle.”
As well as appearing in the smash hit blockbuster ABBA inspired movie, Lily also appeared in the Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis film Yesterday – which featured the music of The Beatles.
