Lil Xan revealed his girlfriend Annie Smith’s pregnancy because he “couldn’t contain his excitement” – despite her only being five weeks gone.
The rapper announced that the pair were expecting with a sweet snap of him embracing Smith on Instagram.
But, despite couples usually waiting until after the first trimester to tell the world, Lil Xan admitted that he “wanted to let the world know” as soon as possible.
The 22-year-old told TMZ: “I wanted to wait a lot longer, until she started showing. We're only five weeks along, but I couldn't contain my excitement so I wanted to let the world know.
“'I was pretty shook, and I'm not going to lie, I cried tears of joy. We're hoping for a boy first, then a girl, then hopefully another boy.
“Regardless of the gender, this has just inspired me more and more each day as I'm going to be a father.”
Lil Xan, real name Nicholas Diego Leanos, announced the happy news over the weekend as he told fans he “couldn’t keep them in the dark”.
In an emotional Instagram post, he wrote: “I wanted to wait but I just can’t leave my fans in the dark, its official I’m going to be a father. I love you guys so much and hope you stay along for this crazy journey and I’ve never felt more happy in my life all of you are invited to the gender reveal party I promise!
“Can’t wait to show the world everything I’ve been working on at YouTube space and my official sophomore album 'BE SAFE' and to my baby my angel my sunshine @anniiesmith.
“I love you with all my heart thank you for saving me I love you more then words could describe.”
The announcement comes after Lil Xan split from Noah Cyrus in September last year, after four months together.
The couple called time on their relationship following a public spat on social media, where the couple accused each other of being unfaithful.
