If you have grown up on a dose of McDonalds like all of us, you are going to love this latest fashion collaboration. VAIN x McDonald’s - A collection crafted from upcycled McDonald’s workwear just popped up and it's going viral for its uniqueness already.
The first fashion show of the collaboration between the popular clothing brand from Finland actually took place inside a McDonald's at Helsinki in Finland.
The idea behind the show was to go back to the good old childhood days, according to Jimi Vain, the man behind the brand.
“As kids growing up in the no man’s land that is rural Ostrobothnia, everything felt so far away. As we grew up and started engaging more and more with global pop culture, one of the very few things that felt familiar to us were the iconic Golden Arches. A symbol that frequented mainstream arts, entertainment and sporting events: McDonald’s. It was something that had relevance even for us in the distant north. Growing up with a McDonald’s along the local highway is what we had in common with the western world and beyond,” Vain was quoted as saying by HypeBeast.
The label presented as many as 13 upcycled, genuine McDonald’s employee gear. All the clothes had VAIN’s logo alongside the much loved 'M' motif. From McD's hoodies to apron dresses, the collection had it all.
While we loved all the clothes in this line, the favourite remains a graphic tee that read, “I’ll take you to McDonald’s for some fries and a VAIN sundae.”
Well, here's hoping some pieces from this collection will also be up for sale in India, and if that's not in the offing, guess it's time for Indian designers to collab for a Happy Meal!
