A super-fit man and his son have gone viral on TikTok after their backyard workout routine won a huge following for demonstrating a great father-son relationship.

Powerlifting coach and massage therapist Laird Ross, 31, and six-year-old son Kyan Ross, are seen lifting huge boulders and flip even bigger tires.

The compilation of clips shows the pair in the back garden and garage throwing boulders over a large hurdle, doing piggy-back pull-ups and boulder squats with the whole family, including mom Tracy.

The adorable moments have been lauded on TikTok, with many people commenting on the relationship between the dynamic father-and-son duo.

Many said that Laird was being a fantastic role model while others commented saying that Kyan Ross will become a great powerlifter one day.

Laird, from Melbourne, Australia, said: “I got heavily stuck into natural stone lifting as a result of the Covid lockdowns.

“Fitness equipment became very difficult to acquire and this seemed to be a logical alternative.

“Natural stone lifting has been around for a very long time and was used as a means to test strength.

“I wanted to see where I was historically. I really enjoyed the challenge of it and have kept it as a result.

“My garage gym and natural stone lifting is far different to a normal gym with far less interruptions and can be very brutal. Kyan saw me lifting stones and wanted to try.

“At the time I had nothing light so when I collected more from the landscaping place I got him a few.”

Laird is also seen flipping a huge tire, which is estimated to be around 660 pounds, while Kyan Ross flips over car tires and throws stones that weigh 15 pounds.

Laird added: “It makes me feel really good. I also enjoy the fact that people can see how simple training can be.

“There are always negative comments with social media. I just ignore them and it’s very easy to do so when you don’t know who they are.

“I haven’t had any injuries training like this. A lot of that is attributed to my background in powerlifting in which I compete so I know how to brace and when something doesn’t feel right.

“As for my son, I make sure nothing he picks up is too heavy. If I have to think twice I just pick something lighter for him.”

Their family love the videos that are posted online and it has only deepened Laird and Kyan’s relationship.

Laird said: “It’s just another fun aspect of life we share which is good. We had a great relationship beforehand, so I guess it’s hard to say.

“It will be the memories of it later on in life that will always keep the bond strong.”

Commenting on what’s next for the pair, Laird said: “For myself, it’s to continue to get stronger for my sport of powerlifting.

“In other words many more heavy sessions ahead.

“My son is too young to have anything set – so my only goal is that he enjoys it when he asks to join in.”
