Life Stories host Kate Garraway says she hopes there are photos of her naked online

Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway has said that she hopes there are photos of her naked online.

Kate, 54, makes the confession during tonight’s instalment of ITV ’s Life Stories, which she has taken over hosting duties of from Piers Morgan.

Kate will be interviewing Welsh singer Charlotte Church, 35, on Thursday’s talk show as the pair discuss Charlotte’s meteoric rise to fame at just aged 11 and the rollercoaster of being a child star.

The popular ITV presenter makes the blushing confession to the audience, saying: “I wonder if there are any fake nudes of me?

“I’d be quite glad because it’s probably a lot better than the real thing.”

Kate admits it was a daunting task to take on the long running Life Stories series from media Marmite figure Piers Morgan after he left the show.

She said: “Life Stories was created around the Piers Morgan phenomenon, so I don’t know whether to be flattered or worried that I’m next.

“There’s the thought, ‘Do they think I’m like Piers?’ It’s different but I don’t shy away from asking anything, I just do it slightly differently.”

This comes in the run-up to ITV's documentary charting Kate’s husband Derek Draper’s ongoing recovery from Covid-19, as a follow-up to the Good Morning Britain host’s award-winning film Finding Derek.

Kate Garraway: Caring For Derek follows the 54-year-old as she continues to care for her husband after he fell seriously ill with the coronavirus.

In an advert for the ITV programme, Kate said: “I'm very protective of people seeing him vulnerable but this is the reality of life for people that are caring. The person he is now, in many ways, is a stranger.”

Derek, 54, contracted the coronavirus in March 2020 and did not return home for a year after he was put into an induced coma by doctors.

He has been battled the severe long-term effects of the illness since and said he has suffered suicidal thoughts as a result.

The new documentary will see Life Stories presenter Kate as she adjusts to the changes in her life with the political lobbyist turned psychotherapist and their children Darcey, 15, and William, 12.

Kate said: “If we have a love and he can be a dad to the children in a whole new way, that's life isn't it.”

The trailer sees Derek lifted in and out of a special bed and sitting in a wheelchair surrounded by the family.

The presenter, who has been Derek’s principal carer since his release from hospital last April, says that although her husband is often ‘lost and confused’, she is buoyed by flashes of his former self.

Kate Garraway's Life Stories featuring Charlotte Church airs tonight (Thursday) at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
