Tucked away in a Nottinghamshire town, neighbours have told of their life next to a waste and recycling centre. Residents living near the centre located on Rugby Road, in West Bridgford have shared the ins and outs of what it is like to be so close to where waste is dropped to be recycled every day.
Asked if the convenient location makes him want to recycle more, one neighbour said he only went to the centre three times in eight years. Yasin Soylar, a taxi driver, added: "It does not bother me. I have lived here for eight years and went there three times.
However, the 48-year-old has one single complaint: "The traffic can be a problem sometimes. The dust or smell has never been an issue.

"I do not hear anything. But when people come to the centre to drop, there are long queues. In the summer, especially, it is a problem."
Graham Howell, a retired resident in the area, said living next to the centre "does not defect me at all". The 64-year-old added: "One potential complaint is obviously the traffic.
"It is so busy sometimes it blocks the road. It can be an inconvenience."
Recycling centres are open every day of the year except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. However, residents had no complaints about the noise.
"It does not affect me at all", Mr Howell added. "I like living here - it is quiet."
Cheyenne Wilson, a student living in the area, added: "It can get dusty especially in the summer. I have seen a problem with dust before - and you can see it above the houses when they move the waste it can get in the air."
Despite the dust concerns, Ms Wilson said she has no plans to leave the area. The 18-year-old added: "But I would not leave the area because of it.
"We have been here for almost five years. In the winter is fine, it is mostly in the summer when there is dust."
Bookings are no longer required to access the West Bridgford Recycling Centre. The opening times of recycling centres vary depending on the time of year.
