Liel Abada to 'hand Celtic injury boost' for Rangers clash but Jota 'could miss' Motherwell

Celtic have been handed a major boost ahead of facing Rangers with Liel Abada back in training, according to a report.

The Hoops face Michael Beale's men at Hampden for the second time this season as they look to book a Scottish Cup Final place that would make them heavy favourites to complete a domestic Treble. They defeated Rangers 2-1 earlier this year in the League Cup Final while they hold a 12 point lead at the top of the Premiership with just six games to go. A win at the national stadium in just over a week from now would set up a clash with Falkirk or Inverness with the famous old trophy up for grabs.

Abada has been out injured since picking up a hamstring injury while on international duty with Israel but he has returned to training and did light work at Lennoxtown on Thursday but he is unlikely to be risked against Motherwell report the Scottish Sun. The 21-year-old has been linked with Ajax and Benfica this week as talk over his future rumbles on.

Jota could miss the clash with the Steelmen after sitting out last week's win over Kilmarnock. Cameron Carter-Vickers also missed the match at Rugby Park but is reported to have trained as normal this week and is available for upcoming games. It is expected the USA international will undergo surgery before the end of the season to get him back and ready for the new campaign.

The Scottish champions have also been without Reo Hatate in recent weeks but the news on Abada will come as a big boost to the Parkhead faithful.

He's set to step up his fitness push in the week ahead as he eyes a return in the Old Firm showdown with Rangers.

His numbers have been impressive once again this campaign with 12 goals and seven assists to his name so far. He has also picked up Champions League experience including two outings against European heavyweight Real Madrid.
