Liel Abada plays down transfer speculation with full focus on life at Celtic

Liel Abada plays down transfer speculation with full focus on life at Celtic

CELTIC star Liel Abada has addressed speculation surrounding his future.

The 20-year-old Israeli attacker insists he has no interest in discussing transfer talk at this moment in time.

Abada arrived at Celtic Park from Maccabi Petah Tikva as one of Ange Postecoglou's first signings last summer.

It was a campaign to remember for the young talent, as he bagged 15 goals in his debut season in Scotland.

His impressive form also led to him picking up the PFA Young Player of the Year, as voted for by his fellow professionals.

Premier League side Crystal Palace are reported to have an interest in the player.

But Abada is refusing to get caught up in talk about his future.

He told YNet: "I'm only dealing with Celtic right now. I'm good here, I love the players, the crowd and the team.

"I get a sense of home and all my focus is here. In the future? I cannot know what will happen and it's not right to talk about it."

Abada also pointed to Joe Hart for helping him to settle into life in Scotland.

He continued: "At the end of one of the games they wanted to interview me and I said I did not feel comfortable enough with the language.

"So Joe came and told them he would do it in my place. He is a good friend of mine, a player who has made an amazing career with lots of titles. He is a role model for me."
