Lido Ponty is set to re-open its doors again in April, as the popular facility has confirmed when the new season will start this year. The National Lido of Wales, in Pontypridd, will open to the public again from Saturday, April 9.
Thousands flocked to the lido last summer when it welcomed back visitors following a lengthy closure as extensive damage was sustained during Storm Dennis in February 2020. It became so popular that the facility extended its season last year a number of times as more than 92,000 visitors popped by for a dip.
On Wednesday, March 23, Lido Ponty posted the following message: "It’s the news you have been waiting for! Lido Ponty opens on Saturday, April 9 for its main 2022 season. Tickets go on sale for the first three days of our main season (April 9, 10 and 11) on Monday, April 4." Let's hope the lovely weather stays on our side ahead of the opening, as the lido is set to welcome back visitors just in time for Easter. You can follow the latest news from Pontypridd by subscribing to our weekly newsletter here.
