Shoppers looking to save money on their gas and heating bills have been rushing to the middle of Lidl to snap up their latest energy-saving gadget. The German retailer has launched a heated underblanket that’s a fraction of the cost of traditional heating, and it’s in stores today.
The Lidl Silvercrest heated underblanket means customers can ditch the woolly pyjamas and hot water bottles in favour of this cheap-to-run electric throw.
Priced at just £22.99, the affordable heated underblanket will keep shoppers warm all night long and is just 1 per cent of the overall cost of central heating, according to Checkatrade.

The cosy blanket costs just 2p an hour to run - or 16p per night - compared with a 24KW boiler costing £22.08 running for eight hours.
The bargain blanket comes with six heat settings and features an extra-warm foot zone for those who suffer with cold feet during the winter months.
The blanket comes as part of the electric heating range coming to Lidl stores, which also includes the Sanitas Back & Neck Heat Pad (£17.99) - the perfect option for shoppers looking to keep warm when they’re not tucked up in bed.
Made of extra-soft, breathable upper material and equipped with 6 heat settings, shoppers can simultaneously stave off freezing temperatures and back pain, without breaking the bank.
Shoppers can pick up these cosy energy-efficient gadgets in stores nationwide from today, January 5, while stocks last.
