Lidl shoppers praise £10 lamp that 'helps with anxiety' and stress

One Lidl shopper noticed that the budget giant sells salt crystal lamps for £9.99, and was quick to share the news online with fellow consumers.

The Livarno Home Salt Crystal Lamp is handcrafted from solid salt crystal and comes with a base made from acacia wood.

Salt lamps are thought to improve air quality, boost mood, assist with sleep, though others question whether these beliefs have any merit.

The customer who spotted the lamps in her local supermarket was quick to post a photo on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

Since being uploaded on Thursday, the picture has received almost 100 likes and nearly 250 comments from shoppers sharing their thoughts.

Many were positive, with one writing: "They cleanse the air around the home, they release serotonin in the brain which eases anxiety and they help with breathing problems, they also do a bunch of other stuff too".

"Meant to be good for the air & health issues etc," a second echoed.

A third agreed: "I've got a colour changing one they are so relaxing also helps with damp areas".

A fourth revealed: "I've had one of these for years now. Bought from Aldi when they first did them. It's still going strong I love it so much. Was bloody good value for money my other ones I got from my friend they weer also from Aldi an are also both still going strong".

"I got this one in Lidl last year and it’s great," shared a fifth.

"Mine make my house look cosy and warm," a sixth stated.

Another said: "That’s really good I paid £15 for my daughters one".

"My pals used to get drunk and lick my lamp for luck," joked an eighth.

Not everyone was a fan of the salt lamps, however, with some stressing that they were not safe to have around pets.

One commented: "Please do not buy these if you have pets!! If they lick them it could kill them! Very dangerous product!! Need removing from shelves".

"They are very toxic to pets," agreed a second.

A third concurred: "They’re toxic to cats and one of my idiots would go and lick it".
