Lidl issues warning to anyone who buys its beer after recall due to 'possible health risk'

Lidl has issued a recall notice of one of its beer products due to the presence of undeclared sulphur dioxide.

The supermarket expanded its previous recall of its Starovice Czech Lager to include additional date codes.

According to the Food Standards Agency, poses a "possible health risk" to anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.

Customers who purchased the lager and who have an allergy or intolerance to sulphur dioxide are being urged to return it for a full refund — no receipt is required.

Shoppers have also been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
