Lidl has issued a ‘do not drink’ warning for one of its lagers amid potential health risk concerns.
The budget supermarket provided details of a product recall for its Starovice Czech Lager, which is available on shelves across the country.
It said that 500ml cans of the five per cent lager contain undeclared sulphur dioxide, which is an allergen.
Bosses have urged customers who have purchase the lager, with the best before date of 16/10/2022, and are allergic or intolerant to sulphur dioxide should not drink it.
Instead, punters should return the cans back to their Lidl store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.
Lidl wrote on its website: “Lidl GB is recalling Starovice Czech Lager 5.0%, 500ml with Best Before Date 16/10/2022 only, due to undeclared sulphur dioxide which is an allergen.
“If you have bought the above product, and have an allergy or intolerance to sulphur dioxide, we advise you not to drink it.
“Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.
“Other Best Before Dates or other Starovice products are not affected by this recall.
“Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
