Over 24,500 Lidl staff are to receive a third pay rise over the course of 12 months.
Store and warehouse staff at the discount supermarket chain will see their hourly wage increase from £11 to £11.40.
This could rise to £12.30 depending on how long a staff member has worked at the supermarket.
Staff based within the M25 will see their hourly pay increase to £12.85 from £11.95 - again this could rise to £13.15.
Lidl says the latest raise will see entry level staff earn up to 16% more than their counterparts at "traditional and premium-priced supermarkets".
The move is part of an overall investment of £8million to improve staff pay and is part of an over £60million investment into pay over the past year.
Staff have a little while to go until they see the pay rise as it is set to come in from September.
Ryan McDonnell, CEO at Lidl said: “These new rates of pay will ensure that Lidl maintains its position as the UK’s highest paying supermarket.
"Our people are at the core of everything we do, and this investment recognises the hard work and contribution they make in serving communities across the country every day.”
Since the beginning of the year, several major supermarket chains in the UK have upped the wages for their staff.
Fellow German supermarket Aldi also recently announced a pay rise for 28,000 staff with hourly pay going to £11.40 per hour nationally.
Shop workers within the M25 will see wages rise to £12.85 an hour.
Asda has also upped its pay rates to £11 per hour from April 2023 and is increasing them again to £11.11 per hour from July this year.
This is also the third time Asda increased its hourly pay rates over the last year.
Tesco also pushed its hourly rates past the £11 mark with its recent increase taking their rate to £11.02 from April 2023.
Sainsbury's kicked off the New Year by announcing its staff were to get an increase taking their hourly pay from £10.25 an hour to £11, and from £11.30 to £11.95 for those in London.
