What time is Lidl open during Easter?

Lidl opening hours will change store-to-store, but they're not expected to change too much over the Easter weekend.

When we checked several branches today, stores are scheduled to open at 7am or 8am on Good Friday (April 15) and Easter Saturday (April 16).

This is their regular opening times. The majority of shops will then close at their normal time of 10pm on those days.

How to save money in the supermarkets

If you're looking to save money in the supermarket, check out these tips...

  • Keep an eye out for yellow sticker deals and reductions.
  • Look for discounts and voucher codes online and get on mailing lists of brands and retailers you use.
  • Pick up free supermarket magazines - they'll often have vouchers inside.
  • Try the Downshift challenge; this is where you swap branded goods for supermarket-own labels.
  • Meal prep to reduce impulse buys and spending on what you've already got in the cupboard.
  • Freeze any leftovers that can be eaten at a later date to avoid food waste.

Saving money in the supermarket has never been more relevant, with the cost of living crisis pushing up the prices of goods.

Data from Kantar showed grocery prices were up 5.2% in March with cost increases already hitting consumers.

Producer prices for cupboard staples such as milk, barley and pork were up by a fifth by the end of March.

The cost of wheat and cooking oil has also soared because of the war in Ukraine - but experts say further hikes are on the way.

Butter could rocket by 60% by the end of the year, they warned.
