One Lidl customer has shared a "godsend" discount offered by the retailer, and many shoppers were unaware of it.
People who shop at Lidl can make use of the bargain giant's official app. The Lidl Plus software features all of its current and upcoming offers, as well as a store locator.
One feature that has gone largely undetected, however, is the Lidl Scratchcard. This can be used by scanning your digital card on the app at the till.

As well as prizes and discounts, the Lidl Scratchcard can get you £20 off your next shop. Which is exactly what happened to one customer.
The happy shopper was quick to share the news of the feature on Facebook. Writing in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, they said: "Not exactly a bargain but...... If you don't have the Lidl plus app yet I fully recommed getting it! You get a scratchcard on the app each time you shop, and when I scratched mine this morning I won £20 off my shopping!
"Ended up getting all of this for £7.75!! Absolute godsend in these hard times!"
Before long, the post had received over 3,700 likes and more than 740 comments. Lidl shoppers and bargain hunters alike were quick to share their thoughts on the little-known feature.
One said: "Thank you! I never noticed the scratch card thing on the app and I've had it since it came out."
A second shared: "I have this app, but I don't shop at Lidl very often, i had no idea they give you a scratchcard, just looked back at all the expired ones, a bit like a 'look what you could've won' moment, feel like I've just lost at bullseye!! Well i'll definitely remember for next time!! Thanks."
A third echoed: "I always forget I’ve got it! Go to the till completely forgetting to have them scan my barcode and they never ask so I’ve literally never used it despite going in once a week."
Another posted: "Got to be honest, we switched a few months ago to lidl and every month we get £10 reward for spending £200 over the month. With the offers and prices we have found it much better"
"Love the lidl app never had a big win like that, but it’s a win every time I get to my £2 & £10 vouchers," commented a fifth.
A sixth shared: "I’ve changed from Aldi to Lidl, it’s great I have had vouchers often and they come in so handy, like £10 off your shopping, go in buy £10.78 and pay 78p for it, the scratch cards come up every time you buy stuff Aldi need to step the game up if they want to keep customers."
Not everyone had had such fortunate experiences with the app however, with one commenting: "I normally get a coupon off something I'd never eat".
A second agreed: "Always get a scratch card if I win it’s never on things I’d buy. Nice to see someone winning that’s worth it."
