Lidl Anniesland: Construction begins on new supermarket with 40 jobs created

Construction has begun on a new Lidl store located in the west end of the city.

The new budget supermarket, on Crow Road at Anniesland Cross, will be the latest Lidl in the city and is set to open in Spring 2023.

Lidl GB announced the beginning of the fit-out works of its brand new supermarket which is situated in the former Mothercare unit.

The new Anniesland premises will have a 1405m2 sales area and feature facilities including an in-store bakery and customer toilets with baby changing. It will deliver around 40 jobs to Glasgow’s west end.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Gordon Rafferty, said: “We are delighted to be progressing with our new store in Anniesland, which marks another important milestone in our ongoing investment in Scotland. We’re excited to see our new supermarket develop over the coming few months, with a view to welcoming the first customers through our doors next Spring.”
