Libya’s coast guard rescued 203 migrants clinging to inflatable rafts on Wednesday in two operations north of the Abu Kammash coastal area, in Libya’s far west.
The Libyan National Army's Moral Guidance Department, affiliated with the National Unity Government, said on Wednesday that the Zawiya Coast Guard rescued two rubber boats in Abu Kammash naval area, in response to a notice from the coast guard operations.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Tripoli held an extensive meeting on Tuesday to discuss activating the work of desert patrols on border crossings, tracking migrant smuggling routes and combating gangs that engage in human trafficking.
The meeting was attended by members of the apparatus, including directors of departments, heads of offices, officers, non-commissioned officers and employees from the western, central and southern regions.
