Libraries, leisure centres and what will close in Liverpool on Monday

A number of facilities across Liverpool will close on Monday.

The day of the Queen's funeral has been made a Bank Holiday. Across the country, services and organisations will be closing down for the day.

Liverpool City Council has now provided an update on which of its services and buildings will shut down on Monday. This includes all of the city's Lifestyles fitness centres, which are run by the council.

All of the council-run libraries will also shut their doors on Monday. Children's centres will follow suit, as will the local authority's One Stop Shops and its telephone contact centre. There will be no registration services available - this includes births, deaths and notice of marriage appointments.

Liverpool Town Hall, where the city's book of condolence is currently on display and available for people to sign, will close its doors on Monday. The famous city building will open again on Tuesday from 8.30am until 5pm. This will be the last opportunity for people to leave a message of condolence.

Unlike some other councils, Liverpool will not be suspending its bin collections and these will go ahead as normal. Pre-booked weddings, burial and cremations will also continue as normal.

Away from the city council, there will be a host of closures of businesses, premises and buildings across Liverpool and Merseyside on Monday. You can find a full list of all the closures here.
