Liam Scales says Celtic got the wake-up call they needed against St Johnstone a few weeks ago.
It comes after Brendan Rodgers' men demolished the Perth outfit in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
Goals from Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda, Adam Idah and Jota sent Celtic into next month's showpiece final.

Scales is excited at the prospect of completing a domestic clean sweep: "We know we still need to win another game in the league," he said.
"Obviously, we want to go on and win the cup final. So, I think it's important we get a good rhythm going into the cup final, and hopefully there we can win the treble. It would be amazing."
It was only a fortnight ago before Sunday's last-four showdown that St Johnstone beat Celtic at McDiarmid Park.
Daniels Balodis' fourth-minute header proved crucial as Simo Valakari's men secured a shock victory.
Celtic have since responded by scoring 10 goals in two matches and moving within two games of a treble. Scales admits the defeat in Perth was perhaps needed.
He said: "We bounced back well last week against Kilmarnock, and that gave us the confidence to come into today [Sunday] and start well. I think we controlled the game from the start. The plan was to play in their half, and we did that.
"We tried to move the ball forward fast, and I think the first half was really, really good. It was nice to bounce back.
"It probably was true that we needed a bit of a wake-up call, and I think we've had it."
Celtic travel to face Dundee United at Tannadice this weekend, knowing that at least a point would seal a fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership title.
