Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy shares a glimpse of life after singer's death with poignant update

Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, has shared a glimpse into her “simple” life following his tragic passing.

The 25-year-old influencer has returned to posting on social media three months after Payne’s death.

One Direction star Payne died aged 31 on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires.

Cassidy, who was an active TikTok creator before the loss, has posted only two videos since. One was a heartfelt tribute to the late One Direction star with the caption “I love you,” while the other, posted recently, features a short clip of her pet dog, Nala.

In her somber return to social media, Cassidy shared a video documenting a day in her life, which included her skincare routine, workout, dog walk, and relaxing while watching TV.

The caption read, “A simple day,” and carried a more reflective tone than her usual upbeat posts.

One fan commented: “I have so much respect for you it’s unbelievable. you’re so strong. he watches over you two and i swear he’s also beyond proud of you. keep going. we love you,” alongside a pink heart emoji.

“Why did I genuinely start tearing up while watching this?? I think because I can see how strong you are Kate, for not giving up when I’m sure it does feel like that at times. I’m proud of you,” another shared with two white love-heart emojis.

Cassidy said previously that the pair had sat “manifesting our lives together” a few weeks before Payne died, and revealed she had a note from the singer, which she has kept “close”.

According to Cassidy, it said: “Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444”.

“Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned”, she added.

“You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel. I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go.”

The social media star also thanked fans for their support and condolences, writing directly to Payne in a tribute: “I wish you could see the huge impact you’ve had on the world, even as it feels so dark right now.

“You brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone – millions of fans, your family, friends, and especially me. You are so incredibly loved.

“You are – because I can’t say were – my best friend, the love of my life, and everyone you touched felt just as special as I did. Your energy was contagious, lighting up every room you walked into.”

In 2024, fans noticed that she had gotten a tattoo in honour of the late singer, getting angel wings inked on her fingers as a tribute.

Her post comes weeks after she shared a message about experiencing sadness and grief during the holiday season following the singer’s death.

In an Instagram Story post shared in December, Cassidy advised others to “be gentle” with those around them during the Christmas period and sent her love to those “carrying grief”.

Payne, who rose to fame with boy band One Direction when they were formed on ITV talent show The X Factor in 2010, died of multiple traumas and “internal and external haemorrhage”, a post-mortem examination report said.

An investigation has been launched by prosecutors and several people have been charged in connection with his death.
