Liam Payne Criticized For 'Misogynistic' Comment Towards Girlfriend On Tiktok

Liam Payne with his partner Kate Cassidy

Liam Payne faced criticism after making a comment that was deemed misogynistic towards his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, in a recent TikTok video. In the video, Cassidy showcased her all-black outfit before a sushi dinner in England, to which Payne remarked, 'You look good. Nice and covered up for once,' with a straight face. Cassidy awkwardly giggled in response before ending the video.

Social media users quickly reacted to Payne's comment, with many expressing disapproval. Some fans found the remark concerning, with one commenting, '“‘for once’ is actually insane…' while another jokingly urged Cassidy to 'blink twice if u need help.' Another follower advised Cassidy to 'RUN FAST,' highlighting the perceived problematic nature of Payne's statement.

The video gained significant attention on social media platforms, including TikTok and X, where it went viral. Users on X shared their thoughts, with one user noting that Payne's on-camera behavior raised questions about his off-camera persona. Others juxtaposed Payne's recent comment with his past public image, referencing his song 'Strip That Down' and previous social media posts.

Despite the backlash, Payne has not publicly addressed the criticism, and his representatives have not responded to requests for comment. Payne has been in an on-and-off relationship with Cassidy since late 2022. Prior to dating Cassidy, Payne was involved with models Aliana Mawla and Maya Henry, as well as Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole, with whom he shares a son named Bear.
