Liam Payne cancels online gig and tells fans he's 'not ready' after catching Covid

Liam Payne has dropped out of a special online gig after taking time out due to Covid affected rehearsals.

The former One Direction heartthrob, 28, planned to put on a show for fans this weekend, but he has now pushed it back.

Announcing the news on social media, he told his loyal followers: "I'm so sorry to announce that I'm having to push back the next Here's To The Future Show."

"Unfortunately I had Covid and will not be ready in time to give you the gig you all deserve," he concluded.

Liam's one-off gig has been rescheduled for next month, although a set date is yet to be confirmed.

The singer went solo just five years ago, but his career in music stalled in November after he was dropped by his management company.

He signed with top agency KIN - the masterminds behind David Beckham's commercial empire - after the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.

At the end of last year, sources said that they've split after Liam's career stalled and after they became concerned about his party lifestyle.

An insider told The Sun : "There are concerns right now for Liam because he isn’t committed to anything and is spiralling a bit. His management were at the end of their tether and said enough is enough.

"They didn’t know what else they could do to help him. It is hard for him seeing his bandmate Harry Styles having acclaim across the globe but the truth is that Liam has let himself go and is feeling lost.

"Everyone wants to see him succeed but he’s not in a good place right now."

Since the band went their separate ways, Harry has arguably had the most success, becoming a huge star on both sides of the Atlantic.

Harry has had huge sell out tours, successful albums and landed movie roles too.

Zayn, who quit the band in 2015, has also had huge success as a solo artist, whereas the solo music from Liam, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson has not had as much commercial success.

Liam made it to No3 in the charts with debut single Strip That Down in 2017, but his album LP1 charted at No17 in 2019 and his single Sunshine failed to make the top 100 when it dropped in September.
