Liam Payne and Tommy Fury sent fans into a meltdown as they appeared to announce a boxing match last night.
A promotional image posted to Liam and Tommy's Instagram pages showed the pair facing one another as the words on the photo read: "Old Trafford Manchester" before it added: "Liam Payne Tommy Fury this summer announcement tomorrow".
Liam left much to the imagination as he simply posted the image with an eyes emoji.
However, it has now been confirmed the pair are set to face off on the football field rather than the boxing ring like many fans assumed.
Former Love Islander Tommy, 23, and ex One Direction singer Liam, 29, join a number of big names for this year's Soccer Aid, which takes place in June.
The England side includes Jill Scott as captain, Paddy McGuinness, Jermain Defoe, Karen Carney, Gary Cahill, Jack Wilshere, Bugzy Malone, Tom Grennan, Sir Mo Farah, Alex Brooker, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Chunkz, Joel Corry, Eniola Aluko, David James, Scarlette Douglas and Nicky Butt.
Meanwhile, the Soccer Aid World XI team includes Usain Bolt as captain alongside Lee Mack, Steven Bartlett, Kem Cetinay, Mo Gilligan and Maisie Adam.
Liam will be playing on the England team, while Tommy who is of Irish Traveller and Mauritian descent will be on the Soccer Aid World XI team.
The charity football match is set to take place on Sunday, June 11 at Old Trafford, Manchester.
It comes after fans went into a meltdown as Liam and Tommy appeared to tease an upcoming boxing match between the pair with the poster shared on Instagram.
Liam's fans were left confused and curious in the comments as one wrote: "This has to be fake".
Another asked: "What on earth is going on here?!?!"
A third mused: "That will be interesting."
"NO CUZ WHAT ON EARTH IS HE THINKING," another baffled fan wrote.
"Guys this HAS TO BE for soccer aid. Liam can't fight lol," one insisted.
Soccer Aid raises funds for UNICEF, which works with 190 countries across the world to provide more children with clean water, life-saving therapeutic food and vaccines, education and protection from violence than any other humanitarian organisation.
The Soccer Aid fundraiser began in 2006 and was launched by Robbie Williams and Johnathan Wilkes.
Reflecting on the money Soccer Aid has raised in 2021, Rock DJ singer Robbie said: "It’s difficult to put into words the impact that £13 million could have for children around the world.
"It could help UNICEF to get life-saving food supplies moving again. It could help ensure that children are still able to receive their routine vaccinations. It could help get children back to school, back with their friends, back to just being kids again. The list goes on."
Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2023 takes place on Sunday 11th June at Manchester United's Old Trafford. A family of four can attend the game for just £60 – buy your tickets at socceraid.org.uk/tickets.
