'Liam Payne and I took drugs in his hotel room before his death' - waiter

A waiter has said he was taking drugs with One Direction star Liam Payne in his hotel room days before the singer fell to his death in Argentina.

Braian Paiz admitted to using cocaine with the boyband member but told US tabloid TMZ that he did not get paid by Payne and is not a drug dealer.

The Payne passed away at 31 in October after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His funeral was held last month in Buckinghamshire.

Mr Paiz described how he had partied with the 31-year-old in his room, drinking whiskey and taking cocaine he had brought to the hotel.

He explained they had done so together twice, the second time just two days before Payne’s death.

He described seeing drugs scattered everywhere and said he saw items that were pictured in Payne’s hotel room after his death.

Mr Paiz added that he refused to take Payne’s Rolex when the singer offered it to him as payment.

The waiter’s full comments will be revealed in a documentary airing on Monday night on Fox.

Payne and his girlfriend Kate Cassidy were in Argentina together to attend Niall Horan's concert shortly before Liam's tragic death.

The influencer recently revealed that she and Liam, the "love of her life," had been planning their future together and hoped to marry.

Last month, Cassidy travelled to England to attend Payne’s funeral at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, with the support of her friend Damian Hurley.

Payne's ex, Cheryl Cole, the mother of his seven-year-old son Bear, was also in attendance alongside his One Direction bandmates Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.

Since then, three people have been charged in connection with his death. In November, Argentine prosecutors charged the suspects with "abandonment of a person leading to death" and "supplying and facilitating narcotics use."
