Liam Llewellyn jokes about returning to Love Island after trip to Newport barbers

Liam Llewellyn has joked about returning to the Love Island villa after quitting the show over a week ago. The student, who hails from Newport, left the series unexpectedly after just five days.

At the time the 22-year-old explained to his fellow Islanders that he hadn't been giving "100% Liam". As they gathered around the fire pit, he told them: "Obviously we all came here for the same sort of reason, but I haven't been giving 100% Liam. I know what 100% Liam is and I'm miles off that.

"Trying to find someone you leave the villa with that you love, that's the goal. But when you're not feeling that, it makes it a very hard sort of time to find that. I've been thinking long and hard, it isn't spur of the moment, so I've made a decision I'm going to leave the villa."

Now home in Newport, Liam has been sharing updates with his 235k Instagram followers. In his latest post, Liam joked about returning to the Love Island villa after getting a haircut at his local barbers.

After visiting Royal Barbers in Newport, Liam posted a video on his stories which he captioned: "Trim got me thinking..."

He then said to the camera: "Trim is mad, maybe I should go back? Nah, it's a joke," Liam started laughing before reiterating: "Nah that's a joke, the power of a trim is mad but not that mad, I'm happy where I am."

It comes after Liam, who is the son of a Welsh rugby international, issued a public message and thanked fans for their "love and support".

Taking to Instagram after getting his phone back, Liam said: "Yes people, it's Liam!

"I'm back. I am absolutely blown away by the love and support that has been shown to me whilst I was in the villa and since I've been out. I appreciate you all like you wouldn’t believe."

Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
