Liam Gallagher has passed on his congratulations to Leeds United for surviving relegation from the Premier League. The Whites were required to better Burnley's result against Newcastle United when they faced Brentford on the final day of the season.
After Joe Gelhardt saw his 19th minute goal ruled out for offside, Leeds opened the scoring just shy of the hour mark when Raphinha earned and tucked away a spot-kick. With Burnley 2-0 down, the Whites were struck a blow when Sergi Canos' neat header left Illan Meslier flat-footed to equalise for the Bees. Canos was later sent off and all three points were confirmed in the 94th minute when Jack Harrison struck a fierce effort past David Raya.
The victory was enough for Leeds to keep them up, with Burnley being defeated 2-1 by Newcastle at Turf Moor courtesy of a Callum Wilson double.

Gallagher's side, Manchester City, celebrated a dramatic final day of the season themselves as they lifted their fourth league title in five years as they came from 2-0 down to defeat Aston Villa 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium.
But that didn't stop the Oasis star from sending his congratulations to Leeds after they managed to escape dropping back down to the Championship after only two seasons.
