Liam Gallagher once branded James Corden a 'k***head' and snubbed Carpool Karaoke

Liam Gallagher once branded James Corden a "k***head" and swore that he would never work with him.

James, 44, found himself facing recent backlash after a restaurant owner slammed him for being "the most abusive customer" they had ever had.

Since then, similar stories about The Late Late Show host being rude have started to come out of the woodwork.

When Liam was asked by GQ magazine in 2017 if he would hop into the passenger seat for James' Carpool Karaoke his response was pretty brutal.

"No, thank you very much. No f***ing chance mate. With that fat bloke from Kevin and Perry?"

His girlfriend and manager Debbie Gwyther jumped in to correct him: "It's called Gavin and Stacey and you've never watched it."

"I don't need to watch it to know I won't like it. James Corden is a k***head," Liam snapped back.

James has responded to New York eatery Balthazar's claims that he was abusive to staff over eggs.

The owner, Keith McNally, 71, claimed that the waiter was "left shaken" after James roared: "You can't do your job! You can't do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!"

Speaking on The Late Late Show on Monday, he said that it was "never his intention" to upset the staff at the restaurant.

James has also admitted to being rude to his co-stars (PA)

"Because I didn't shout or scream, I didn't get up out of my seat, I didn't call anyone names or use derogatory language, I've been walking around thinking that I haven't done anything wrong.

"But the truth is I have made a rude, rude comment. And it was wrong. It was an unnecessary comment, it was ungracious to the server."

James said how he called the restaurant owner and "dealt with it privately".

"He appreciated the call," he added. "I was happy that we got to clear the air. And I felt like we dealt with it privately... but by this point, the story was out there and more people were upset."

James, who is best known for his role as Smithy in Gavin and Stacey, has spoken out about his rudeness before.

In his 2011 autobiography he spoke about how he stood up at the Baftas and moaned that Gavin and Stacey hadn't been nominated for Best Sitcom.

After the show won Television Programme of the Year in 2008, he used his acceptance speech to complain.

"Now, of course, I can see why and how it must have looked – ungracious, ungrateful and brattish. Rather than using my speech to thank everyone who'd helped on the show, I'd ruined the moment and belittled myself in the process," he wrote.

In his book, he also admitted to being rude to his pal Ruth Jones.

"As 2008 wore on, it got so bad I was being rude to my agent and I even started being rude to Ruth," he wrote.

"If I was in company and the conversation wasn't revolving around me, I would just switch off."
