Liam Gallagher is facing a substantial increase in child support payments after the mother of his daughter launched fresh legal action ahead of the upcoming Oasis reunion tour.
The frontman, 52, is reportedly taken aback by demands from Liza Ghorbani, 51, for a significant rise in financial support for their daughter Gemma, 12.
A source close to Gallagher described Ghorbani’s demand as "a silly amount," as rumours swirl that she is seeking to capitalise on Gallagher's high-profile comeback.
The insider said: "Ghorbani is pushing for 'a silly amount', causing Liam unnecessary stress as he prepares for the tour."
Gallagher had an affair with Ghorbani starting in 2010 and later acknowledged paternity after she filed a £2 million child support lawsuit in 2013.
Although Gallagher has reportedly never met Gemma, he is said to have offered financial support whenever needed.
An insider told The Sun: "It's added pressure on Liam, who's never even met Gemma. This latest case is just one of the many issues he's had to deal with when it comes to his personal life."
The singer has three other children from previous relationships: Gene, 23, with ex-wife Nicole Appleton, Gene, 25, with former wife Patsy Kensit, and eldest son Lennon, 23.
Gallagher is currently engaged to former personal assistant Debbie Gwyther, 40, who he has been with since 2019.
The upcoming Oasis reunion, featuring Gallagher and brother Noel, is expected to be one of the music industry's biggest events of the year, prompting speculation that Ghorbani is hoping to capitalise on its financial success.
