After a great year of music in Cardiff, including Ed Sheeran bringing live music back to the Principality Stadium and Welsh legend Tom Jones teaming up with Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher is now coming to the capital. He will be performing to crowds in Cardiff Bay.
The Oasis frontman is performing solo to fans at Cardiff Bay on Thursday, September 15. There will be road closures in place across the city for the gig which starts two days of road closures in Cardiff as King Charles III visits Wales for the first time as King on Friday. What roads will be closed?
Liam's gig will take place at Alexandra Head and Cardiff Bay Barrage will be closed from 3pm on Thursday, September 15. It is expected to re-open at approximately 11.30pm. Boats will still be able to enter and exit Cardiff Bay via the lock gates.
Britannia Quay, Harbour Drive, and Porth Teigr Way will all be closed from 3pm. Ticketholder access to the event is from the Porth Teigr end of the Barrage only. There is no access from the Penarth side. Anybody wishing to walk or cycle to the event from Penarth will need to cross the Barrage to Porth Teigr before 3pm, or cross via the Pont Y Werin bridge.
Where can I park?
Additional car parking for the concert will be available at County Hall which is located off Schooner Way and is close to the bay. There are also car parks open 24 hours in the city centre.
There are several council-owned car parks that cater for 24-hour parking. A few examples include Sophia Gardens Car Park, which charges 24 hours a day and costs up to £17.60 for the full day. Castle Mews Car Park which charges between 8am and 8pm Monday – Saturday and costs up to £6.10 for five hours, and North Road Car Park, which costs £8.80 for a full day (until midnight that evening) - its charging hours are Monday to Sunday between 8am and 6pm.
