Liam Gallagher hinted at Oasis reunion two months ago dedicating song to 'little brother' Noel

Oasis fans have realised that Liam Gallagher hinted at the band’s reunion during his recent solo tour.

On Tuesday the Gallagher brothers officially announced that they would be reuniting Oasis, 15 years after the band's split.

The iconic Britpop group is set to embark on a massive £50million stadium tour in the summer of 2025, including five nights at Wembley Stadium.

And it seems Liam has long been looking forward to this comeback, as he took a moment during his recent solo tour to dedicate a song to his brother, much to the crowd's excitement.

In a video shared by @oasismaniaofficial in June, a month before their comeback photoshoot, Liam joked about Noel still being “playing hard to get” since the reunion hadn't been confirmed yet.

He playfully said: “But that’s alright. Word is, he was spotted buying chocolates in a posh shop, so who knows?”

Liam then announced that he would be performing Half the World Away in honour of Noel, a track which features poignant lyrics like: “You can't give me the dreams that are mine anyway. You're half the world away.”

Comments on the video were filled with excitement about a potential Oasis reunion at the time, with many unaware that the brothers were working on a comeback tour in the background.

One lamented: “Oasis reunion would be the best gigs ever.”

“Oasis reunion would be sold out forever,” a second penned. A third remarked: “I mean, he’s saying this song is dedicated to him. He’s saying ‘he’s playing hard to get’. The reunion is imminent.”

Some pointed out the irony in Liam calling him “little brother” given Noel’s six years older.

One commenter quipped: “He's just poking fun at his height.”

It’s not the first time Liam hinted at the reunion, with fans learning that he had previously teased Oasis’ comeback as early as July.

In light of the band’s reunion announcement, some fans have revisited Liam’s social media and realised he had dropped a major clue last month.

In a newly resurfaced post on X, formerly Twitter, from the day of their tour photo shoot, the 51-year-old teased: “There’s a few big things happening, but I can’t tell you as they’re so big it’s gonna blow your minds, and I’ve been sworn to secrecy. Sorry, hope you understand.”

When a fan asked him that same day, “Morning leeeyum what's the plan for today?” Liam casually responded “photo shoot”, unknowingly hinting at the monumental comeback.

Confirming the Oasis Live 25 tour, the band penned: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

The UK and Ireland tour will start at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and visit Manchester’s Heaton Park, Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin’s Croke Park throughout July and August next year.

Tickets for UK dates will go on sale from 9am on Saturday, with Dublin tickets available from 8am the same day.
