Liam Gallagher blasts 'boring' solo career as he says he prefers 'bashing it' in a band

Former Oasis member Liam Gallagher has said that having a solo career was "boring" for him - saying he much rather prefers working alongside other musicians in a band.

Liam and brother Noel made up one of the best loved British bands of all time aspart of Oasis, with the duo enjoying eight UK number one singles and eight UK number one albums to go alongside six Brit Awards.

However, there was a massive fallout between the Manchester brothers

which led to the band splitting in 2009.

Both Liam and Noel didn't waste any time in launching new projects, with Liam a part of Beady Eye and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds forming shortly after.

And though Noel has never gone solo since the breakup, Liam took the plunge in 2016 after Beady Eye disbanded - with both of his solo albums topping the charts so far.

But ahead of his third album, C'Mon You Know , being released next month, Liam has opened up about how he much prefers being in a band to his solo work.

He told MOJO Magazine that being solo is "boring as f***, to be fair. I’d much rather be in a band, all bashing it out together. But as long as it sounds good that is all that matters."

Last week, Liam revealed that he needs a hip replacement - but noted that he would rather roll with it in a wheelchair pushed by his wife.

“My hips are f***ed... I’ve got arthritis bad,” he told Mojo. “I went to get it checked and my bones are mashed up.

“The lady was going, ‘you might need a hip replacement. It’s not as bad as you think, the recovery will be a couple of months’. You’re all right. I’d rather be in pain – which is ridiculous, obviously."

He added: “I’m definitely on the downwards slide, though. I can’t sleep for the pain. So I’m on herbal sleeping tablets and they’ve saved my life.

“I can’t [have the hip replacement]. I’m not going to crisp it having my hip cracked, thank you. I’d rather be in a wheelchair, with [wife] Debbie pushing me around, like Little Britain.”
