Liam Gallagher is adding a pool to his north London mansion - despite previously admitting he can’t swim.

The Oasis rocker’s back garden was filled with construction workers and contained a dug-out pit for the large pool, in photos obtained by The Mirror.

The 52-year-old had plans to build a 24ft by 12ft pool as well as a high-security wall and gates at his lavish £4 million Highgate home approved in September.

The Wonderwall singer is also planning to introduce a gravel drive, daybeds, loungers, outdoor seating, and a pizza oven.

Gallagher’s pool construction comes after he admitted he struggles to swim, describing himself as a “mad salmon” flailing around when he hits deeper water.

"Me [and my brothers Noel and Paul] can't swim,” he confessed to his mother Peggy and musician son Gene, 23, on Celebrity Gogglebox in 2017.

Gene replied: "You can swim, just not with your head up. You go underwater."

The rocker said: "I can do half a width. I wish I could swim. I struggle when it goes deeper and that.

“That's when I start flapping around like some mad salmon, like a crazy salmon and I've got to go back. I struggle having a shower."

When Peggy revealed she swims regularly swims, Gallagher responded: "Good for you. That's grand. I'm jealous, man."

Gallagher shares Gene with his second wife Nicole Appleton, 49, son Lennon, 24, with his first wife Patsy Kensit and daughter Molly, 26 with his ex Lisa Moorish.

Meanwhile, last year the musician sent fans into a frenzy when he announced the Oasis reunion world tour.

Gallagher and his brother Noel, 57, confirmed in August that they have put their differences aside and will take the stage together later this year.

It has since been claimed that the Stop Crying Your Heart Out singer is planning to quit drinking and focus on his fitness to ensure the Live ‘25 tour goes off without a hitch.

"Liam's just returned from a boozy holiday and now plans to be in lock-down for the foreseeable to focus on getting fit for the tour,” a source told The Sun last month.

"He is planning on being sober ahead of and on tour with Oasis.

"He's actually used cutting out booze to help him prepare and also to get through the shows before."

The singer previously revealed he stopped drinking onstage after an erratic performance with Oasis at Wembley in 2000.

The 41-show Oasis reunion tour kicks off on July 4 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, followed by five nights at Manchester’s Heaton Park and eight at Wembley Stadium in London.

The Don’t Look Back In Anger hitmakers are set to perform a number of gigs in the UK, Ireland, Australia, the US, and Mexico.
