Liam Delap continued his fine start to the season after he scored his first goal of the New Year on Sunday afternoon.
The 21-year-old rattled home a second-half penalty as Ipswich Town and Fulham played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage.
That point was so very nearly three for the Tractor Boys who were pegged back by Raul Jimenez’s late spot-kick. Amazingly, three penalties were given in west London.
Jimenez’s first also came from 12 yards. Sammie Szmodics gave Kieran McKenna’s side the lead when he fired home after 38 minutes.
However, it was Delap’s effort that saw his stock continue to rise. No English striker has scored more Premier League goals in 2024/25 than the former Manchester City star.

Liam Delap Premier League Goals 2024/25
After netting in the 2-2 draw at Fulham, Liam Delap has now scored eight Premier League goals this season. He is one ahead of Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke.
Furthermore, no player aged 21 or under in England’s top-flight has more goal contributions than the Ipswich Town man. Delap has 10 G/A in total.
However, the 21-year-old is still a way off catching Cole Palmer. The Chelsea star has 13 goals and an impressive six assists in England’s elite this campaign.
Nonetheless, Delap has continued to shine in a struggling Tractor Boys team in 2024/25. His first goal actually came against the Cottagers in the reverse fixture at Portman Road in August.
Delap followed that up with a fine brace against Aston Villa in a 2-2 draw in September. Since then, he has netted against West Ham, Brentford and Tottenham.
Delap also got on the scoresheet in the fine 2-0 win over Chelsea on gameweek 19. If Kieran McKenna’s side are to pull off the Great Escape, it’ll be due to the exploits of the England U21 striker.
According to the best football betting sites in the UK, last season’s EFL Championship runners-up are 4/6 to be relegated.
