Leeds United captain Liam Cooper has issued a heartfelt message to Marcelo Bielsa after he was this morning sacked from his post at the club.
When fit, the Scotland international was a mainstay in the side during Bielsa's time at Elland Road and the pair seemingly grew an even bigger bond off the field.
Cooper made 118 appearances under the Argentine - the third-most of any player - with only Stuart Dallas and Kalvin Phillips recording more.
It has been a memorable three-and-a-half years for the Whites with Bielsa in charge, as he helped steer the club back to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.
This was after Leeds lost in the play-off semi-final to Derby County during his first season in charge, but Bielsa stuck to his philosophy and it paid off in the end.
Leeds lifted the Championship title with two matches to spare and it went down as their most successful season in over a decade and he continued to flourish in the top-flight.
During the club's return to the Premier League, Leeds finished ninth, earning the highest points tally by a newly promoted side since the 2000/01 campaign.
This season has proved to be difficult and the Whites have recorded just five wins in the process, leaving them just two points above the relegation zone.
Although the Whites' 4-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur was his final game at the helm, Bielsa's legacy will no doubt live on for years to come and Cooper has praised him for his impact on the side.
Speaking on Twitter, he said: "You United a club, a city & a team going nowhere. I will be forever grateful for everything you and your staff did for me and my family. A club legend of our era. Gracias Marcelo."

A number of other players have taken to social media to thank the 66-year-old.
Junior Firpo said: "It’s been an honor working with you and all your staff. A real club legend. Thank you."
Patrick Bamford said: "Thank you, the man who changed everything for everyone."
